Guiding Principles
GUIDING PRINCIPLES

Leadership development should be as rigorous about the person as it is relevant to the business.

Leadership is contextual.

I begin with the business, the role, the strategy, the culture and the expectations around the leader. Development divorced from context has limited value.

Depth matters.

Visible behavior tells only part of the story. I am interested in what sits beneath it: patterns, motives, beliefs, values and the ways leaders instinctively protect what matters to them.

Purpose provides direction.

Purpose is not an exercise in creating a statement. Properly explored, it gives leaders a practical anchor for how they choose to lead, making a meaningful difference that is unique to them.

Compassion and candor belong together.

Good developmental work creates the trust for honest exploration and the courage to examine what may otherwise remain unseen, including the assumptions and self-judgments that can quietly shape leadership behavior.

Insight must become practice.

Self-awareness matters when it changes what a leader notices, chooses and does - particularly in the moments when pressure makes old habits easiest to repeat.

Independence matters.

I bring an independent point of view and protect the integrity and confidentiality of the developmental relationship.

HOW I USE AI

AI can sharpen the questions. It does not replace judgment.

I use AI selectively as an additional analytical lens in my work. Its value is to help me explore complex assessment data and stakeholder input more deeply, test hypotheses, notice tensions or contradictions and ask better questions about what may sit beneath the visible leadership behavior.

I do not use AI as a substitute for professional judgment, human dialogue or authorship. The interpretation of the person and their context, the conclusions I draw and the work I do with each leader remain mine.

Every assessment, report and developmental intervention is individually considered, written, reviewed and tailored to the specific person, role and organization.

How I Use AI

When the leadership stakes are high, the conversation is worth having.
